We recognise you are entrusting us with your child’s care; it is a privilege and one we do not take lightly.
Gordonstoun international Summer School is run by Gordonstoun teams, to the same high standards, and following the same sector leading policies and practices as our full boarding Prep and Senior Schools.
"Our heartfelt applause for a flawlessly executed summer program which has dedication and heart written all over it.”

Accommodation & Pastoral Care |
---|
Students live in the school boarding houses, looked after by Houseparents and resident assistant staff. Children are allocated a boarding house depending on their age and gender. The houses are usually a mixture of single, double and 4 beds, with private washrooms. Students spend very little time in their rooms; they are encouraged to relax with friends, watch films, have snacks or play table tennis. This is an important part of ensuring friendships grow. Our mobile phone policy includes access to devices but also ensures students spend time enjoying the course rather than be glued to their phones! Throughout the programme there is a high level of personal attention, with one member of staff for every three students. |
Travel Arrangements |
---|
Unless you are confident your child can change flights and terminals without assistance, please register them with the airline as Unaccompanied Minors, or with Airport Angels at Heathrow for support with flight transfers. |
Food |
---|
We know food is really important! Our dining hall is used to feeding over 500 hungry students all year. Gordonstoun’s Catering Manager personally oversees our Summer School catering arrangements in the school’s modern refectory, and within our boarding houses. |
Medical Attention |
---|
Our on campus Healthcare Centre is open 24 hours a day during Summer School. Our healthcare team is led by a fully qualified paediatric nurse, and there is access to a doctor and a hospital within 10 minutes from the school. |
Clothing |
---|
Casual, comfortable clothing is required. Scotland in July and August has an average temperature of 16-18°C (62°F) and often reaches 25°C (72°F) or more. It is regarded as probably the hottest two months of the year here. Daytime dress is informal, but we ask students to bring smart clothes for our final celebration dinner. A suggested clothing list is sent with administrative details on registration. We have an onsite laundry open every day Monday to Friday. |
